The protein composition of human pancreatic juice.

چکیده
1. Human pancreatic juice contains amylase, lipase, ribonuclease, deoxyribonuclease, proelastase, procarboxypeptidase A, procarboxypeptidase B, chymotrypsinogen, and trypsinogen, as well as a tqqsin inhibitor. The level of the inhibitor is such that 1 ml of pancreatic juice containing 4 mg of protein will inhibit about 0.08 mg of bovine trypsin. The inhibitor is a small, basic protein, soluble in 2.5% trichloracetic acid. It differs from the Kunitz bovine inhibitor in its slower migration rate in polyacrylamide gels at pH 4.1 and in its kinetic properties. 2. The proteins of human pancreatic juice have been separated into anionic and cationic fractions at pH 6.5. The cationic proteins include amylase, lipase, RNase, and pancreatic trypsin inhibitor; the anionic proteins include chymotrypsinogen, procarboxypeptidases A and B, and two components showing tryptic activity. 3. The cationic proteins have been separated on polyacrylamide gels and identified by histochemical methods. Zones containing amylase, lipase, RNase, and pancreatic trypsin inhibitor have been localized.

The molecular characteristics of a human pancreatic acidic phosphoprotein that inhibits calcium carbonate crystal growth.
A CaCO3-crystal-growth inhibitor was isolated from human pancreatic stones by using EDTA demineralization, followed by DEAE-Trisacryl chromatography. The isolated inhibitor was found to be a phosphoglycoprotein with Mr 14017 and having an unusual chemical composition. It is characterized by a high (42%) acidic amino acid content, but lacks methionine and gamma-carboxyglutamic acid. The protein ...
متن کاملSecretory immunoglobulin A in pancreatic juice and pancreatic tissue of patients with chronic pancreatitis.
BACKGROUND The predominance of secretory IgA (S-IgA) in intestinal secretions compared with blood is well established, but concentrations of this protein in pancreatic juice and its origin, especially in chronic pancreatitis, are unknown. AIMS To investigate the role of S-IgA in chronic pancreatitis. PATIENTS Twenty one patients with chronic pancreatitis (group I), three patients with prove...
متن کاملCanine pancreatic responses to intestinally perfused proteins and protein digests.
Pancreatic bicarbonate and protein secretory responses to intestinally perfused proteins or digests of proteins were measured in dogs with chronic gastric and pancreatic fistulas when luminalpancreatic protease concentrations were reduced to undetectable levels. Protein digests were analyzed for amino acid content, and various other indirect met-ods were used to assess the composition of the di...
متن کاملThe Composition of Pancreatic Juice and Blood Serum as Influenced by the Injection of Inorganic Salts
In the previous paper it was suggested that information concerning the permeability of the pancreatic tissue to the constituents of the blood serum could best be studied by determining the composition of pancreatic juice and serum during experimental variation in the composition of the latter. In that paper experiments were reported, in which acid and alkaline solutions were injected intravenou...
